Rick Hauf, CSP
Every page on this site is written by one person, who teaches this standard for a living.
01Why this site exists
I teach about 55 2027 NFPA 70E classes a year — electricians, EHS managers, maintenance crews, facility engineers. Somewhere around the thousandth question, a pattern becomes impossible to ignore: the people responsible for electrical safety don't need another summary of the standard. They need someone to tell them what it means — for their permit process, their glove budget, their one-electrician night shift.
That's what Arc Flash Training is. Not a replacement for the standard — buy the book. Not a sales site — the training business lives at ArcFlashTraining.org. This is the reference I wish my students had between classes: current, plainspoken, and willing to take a position.

03How the content is written
Three rules govern every page here:
- The standard wins. 2027 NFPA 70E (current edition) is the authority. Where this site interprets, it says so; where something awaits verification, it's flagged, visibly, until I've confirmed it against the published text.
- Field first. If an interpretation wouldn't survive contact with a real maintenance crew, it doesn't get published.
- No paid placement. Nobody pays to appear here, and nothing on this site is sponsored, affiliated or ranked by who is paying. The reference material is written to the standard, not to a sales goal. Class dates and seats shown around the site are Rick's own instructor-led 2027 NFPA 70E classes; enrollment for those is handled by ArcFlashTraining.org.
On-site and virtual 2027 NFPA 70E training, current to the 2027 edition, for crews and EHS teams nationwide.
